Not every CEO can manage to buy a nearly revenue less company for $ 1 billion, get a glamorous photo shoot in Vogue and devote a weekend to a task more suited to graphic designers (craft a new logo). Not every CEO is Marissa Mayer.

Marissa Mayer is the CEO of Yahoo! She has rocketed herself to the front line of the most powerful woman in tech and the youngest CEO on the books of the world’s largest companies. Mayer has a degree in symbolic system and computer science; she is just not an executive figure on the top. This genius lady became the youngest woman to become the CEO of a Fortune 500 company and at that time she was pregnant therefore news caused a stir in the media. Mayer is a CEO, a mom to be, a social ideal and most talked about woman of her times, all at once.

One thing is said about Marissa Mayer that almost everyone agrees that she is among the smartest people you could meet. Mayer chose to go to Stanford University after scrutinizing the pros and corns of ten colleges that she got accepted at. There were few months left for her to graduate and she was already getting job offers. She also had a job offer from a company called Google in her mail waiting for her to click. Mayer decided to risk it and accept the offer from the Google which was tech start up at that time. She became the 20th employee at the Google.
In the same year, Marissa Mayer was asked to come in for an informal interview with the recruiting team at Yahoo. Mayer explained her candidacy and convinced the team of her abilities to revive the failing company. The news that Mayer had severed ties with Google, and was going to become CEO of Yahoo was met with an ecstatic reaction from within the company. The industry reverberated with the news as Mayer became the youngest female CEO of a Fortune 500 company.
